I was having a look on the internet and saw really cute tiny patterns, so I thought I would have a go at making my own. Heres how to make Sooty -

What you need-
- 4 double-pointed needles uk 10 (3.25mm)
- Small amount of black dk or 4-ply
- 2 small black beads and 2 green sequins for eyes
- stuffing
Abbreviations
k- knit
sts – stitches
kfb – knit into the front and back of the stitch (so you increase by one)
k2tog – knit 2 sts together (so you decrease by one)
k3tog – knit 3 sts together ( so 3 sts become 1)
The Body -
On one of the needles cast on 3sts in . Push these 3sts onto the other end of the needle,pulling the wool across the sts tightly and kfb x 3 (6sts)
Now distribute these 6sts onto 3 needles, so 2 sts on each.
Row 1 (and all odd rows) : k
Row 2 : (k1,kfb) x 3 (9sts)
Row 4 : (k2,kfb) x 3 (12sts)
Row 6 : (k3,kfb) x 3 (15sts)
Row 8 : (k4,kfb) x 3 (18sts)
Row 10 : (k4,k2tog) x 3 (15sts)
Row 12 : (k3,k2tog) x 3 (12sts)
Stuff the cat with stuffing now
Row 14 : (k2,k2tog) x 3 (9sts)
Row 16 : (k1,k2tog) x 3 (6sts)
Row 18 : (k2tog) x 3 (3sts)
Cut a long end of wool and pull through the remaining sts.
Ears (make 2)
Cast on 5 sts
Row 1 : k
Row 2 : k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (3sts)
Row 3 : k
Row 4 : k3tog
fashen off
Back legs (make 2)
Cast on 3sts
Make a 5 row i-cord
Cast off
Front legs (make 2)
Cast on 3sts
Make a 3 row i-cord
Cast off
Sew on the ears, eyes and legs onto the body, for the tail I just used a piece of wool
And you are done
